Characteristics of High bulk Carpet

It is probably thought that high bulk carpets are woven by special machines, while the carpet flocking machines (high-bulk) are not different from other carpet manufacturing machinery. In fact, the main difference between high bulk and other carpets (common type) is in the pile yarn used in the carpet texture. Two types of pile yarn, known as heat-set acrylic and heat-set high-bulk are applied in the production of high bulk carpets. When these two types of yarn are placed together, multi-level surfaces are created in the stage of carpet finishing and polishing because of the different characteristics of the yarns. In other words, embossed flowers are obtained because of the use of different acrylic and high-bulk pile yarns to create dents and indents. In fact, the texture of the high bulk carpet is similar to ordinary and simple carpets with no embossed flowers before going through the sizing or processing stage to make changes. In the finishing part, the carpet is exposed to a standard and special heat, after which the high-bulk yarn used in the texture, goes down a little, leading to a multi-level surface with dents and indents. Thus, the colors, texture, and flowers woven with high-bulk yarn will form the dents.

High Density:  High bulk carpets have usually a density of 700-reeds or higher due to the use of highly delicate high-bulk yarns, along with unique designs. In fact, the high delicacy of such carpets necessitates higher density to increase the beauty and delicacy of the patterns and flowers. High bulk carpets are usually produced with a 1200-reeds density.
